Title:Considerations for ISO 26262 ASIL Hazard Classification

Scope: This recommended practice is intended to provide guidance for classifying vehicle level hazards utilizing the ISO 26262[1] ASIL classification method. Considerations to be taken into account for determining the Exposure, Severity and Controllability for a given hazard will be reviewed (see Figure 1). A template for documenting the pertinent hazard classification rationale is also provided.
