【摘要】:ThispartofBS1916givesguidanceontolerances,limitsandfitsforlargediameters(19.69into125in).Inmanyindustries,componentsinlargesizesaremadetointerchangeableaswellastomatchedfits.Therearemanypracticalproblems,however,inachievinginterchangeablemanufactureinlargediameters,duemainlytodifficultiesofmeasurement.Clause4andClause5inSection1discusstheknowndifficultieswhichmightbeencounteredanddrawattentiontothosetolerancesandfitswherethegreaterdifficultiesmightbeexpectedtoarise.Section2putsforwardtablesoftolerances,deviationsandlimitsforshaftsandholes.Itisstronglyemphasizedthattheseshouldberegardedasrecommendationsintendedfortrialpurposes.Theyarepublishedintheexpectationthatexperienceintheirusewillenablethemtobeconfirmedormodified,andwillhelptobringtolightdeficienciesinmeasuringtechniques.AnexplanationofthesystemtowhichthisstandardformsanextensioniscontainedinBS1916-1.
