【摘要】:Ifacoatingistofulfillitsfunctionofprotectingordecoratingasubstrate,itmustadheretoitfortheexpectedservicelife.Becausethesubstrateanditssurfacepreparation(orlackofit)haveadrasticeffectontheadhesionofcoatings,amethodtoevaluateadhesionofacoatingtodifferentsubstratesorsurfacetreatments,orofdifferentcoatingstothesamesubstrateandtreatment,isofconsiderableusefulnessintheindustry.Thelimitationsofalladhesionmethodsandthespecificlimitationofthistestmethodtolowerlevelsofadhesion(see1.3)shouldberecognizedbeforeusingit.Theintra-andinter-laboratoryprecisionofthistestmethodissimilartootherwidely-acceptedtestsforcoatedsubstrates(forexample,TestMethodD2370andTestMethodD4060),butthisispartlytheresultofitbeinginsensitivetoallbutlargedifferencesinadhesion.Thelimitedscaleof0to5wasselecteddeliberatelytoavoidafalseimpressionofbeingsensitive.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforassessingtheadhesionofcoatingfilmstometallicsubstratesbyapplyingandremovingpressure-sensitivetapeovercutsmadeinthefilm.Note18212;Thistestmethodhasbeenreportedbeingusedtomeasureadhesionoforganiccoatingsonsoftsubstrates(forexample,woodandplastic).IssueswithplasticsubstratesarenotedinAppendixX1.Asimilartestmethod,ISO2409,permitstestsonsoftsubstrates(forexample,woodandplaster).Precisionandbiasdataonthelaterislacking.TestMethodsD3359wasdevelopedwithmetalasthesubstrateand,intheabsenceofsupportingprecisionandbiasdata,issolimited.1.2TestMethodAisprimarilyintendedforuseatjobsiteswhileTestMethodBismoresuitableforuseinthelaboratory.Also,TestMethodBisnotconsideredsuitableforfilmsthickerthan5mils(125x03BC;m).Note28212;Subjecttoagreementbetweenthepurchaserandtheseller,TestMethodBcanbeusedforthickerfilmsifwiderspacedcutsareemployed.1.3Thesetestmethodsareusedtoestablishwhethertheadhesionofacoatingtoasubstrateisatagenerallyadequatelevel.Theydonotdistinguishbetweenhigherlevelsofadhesionforwhichmoresophisticatedmethodsofmeasurementarerequired.Note38212;Itshouldberecognizedthatdifferencesinadherabilityofthecoatingsurfacecanaffecttheresultsobtainedwithcoatingshavingthesameinherentadhesion.1.4Thistestmethodissimilarincontent(butnottechnicallyequivalent)toISO2409.1.5Inmulticoatsystemsadhesionfailuremayoccurbetweencoatssothattheadhesionofthecoatingsystemtothesubstrateisnotdetermined.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
