【摘要】:Theprocedurerecommendedinthispracticecanbeusedtoassessthesensoryappearanceandtactilepropertiesoflotionsandcreamsorointment.Thispracticeisapplicabletoproductcategoriesthatincludeskinlotionsandcreams;facialmoisturizers;handlotionsandcreams;andskincareproductsforwhichtheappearanceandtactilepropertiesneedtobeassessed.Proceduresofthetypedescribedhereinmaybeusedtocommunicateperceivedsensoryproperties(appearanceandfeel)betweenmanufacturersandtotheconsumerthroughthemedia.Theseguidelinesaresuggestedtomeettheneedforascertainingtheperformanceofexperimentalorcommercialsamples.Theseproceduresaretobeusedbypersonswhohavefamiliarizedthemselveswiththeproceduresandhavehadpreviousexperiencewithsensoryevaluation.Thispracticeprovidessuggestedproceduresandisnotmeanttoexcludealternateproceduresthatmaybeeffectiveinprovidingsensoryevaluationdescriptions.1.1Theobjectiveofthispracticeistoprovideproceduresthatmaybeusedinthedesignandanalysisofstudiesofskincareproductsthatcomparequalitativelyandquantitativelyvarioussensoryattributesandtheirintensity(orstrength)overtime.Thesepropertiescanthenbeusedtodefinetheperformanceofskincareproductstoprovidedirectioninproductformulation,researchguidance,andclaimsubstantiation.1.2Guidelinesareprovidedforthedefinitionofeachproductattributeorterm,rangeoftheratingscales,proceduresforthemanipulationofproductaloneandontheskin,selectionandtrainingofpanelists,handlingofproducts,andskinconditioningpriortotests.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
